CBCP, or the Committee for Black Cultural Programming, provides programs and activities for the campus community that reflect the cultural, educational, and social experiences and contributions of people of African descent. CBCP has brought to Athens cultural programs such as Garth Fagan Dance and the Alvin Ailey Repertoiry Company, poet Nikki Giovanni, the dance group Step Afrika!, Ludacris and 112. CBCP is also responsible for the annual Day of Soul and Week of Soul activities.
